This is so, but it still doesn’t feel like a Vertigo comic. Astro City is its own thing, and it’s just been placed under the Vertigo banner because there’s nowhere else it would fit any better.

Astro-Vertigo: I know Vertigo is “DC’s adults line,” but is that a part of their official mandate, or are they just “creator-controlled stuff that’s not in DC continuity”– in which case, Astro City fits. And while I haven’t read this Astro, they all addressed some maturish themes, even if they were, you know, fun.

Mickey Mouse, Secret Agent: I remember reading about these years ago on the web. Mickey and Goofy have to be the least conspicuous spies since Long-Snoot skulked around Mos Eisley, in a galaxy far far away.

Thanks, Chace — it’s just nuts that DC and Marvel do stuff like this. It’s irritating enough that they hold a bogus trademark like this, but it’s even worse when they use their lawyers to abuse smaller publishers, just for the crime of not having DC’s and Marvel’s legal budget…
